Jordan Sterns Keeps Some Specific Motivation on His Phone’s Background

first_imgJordan Sterns ranks No. 23 in the country in tackles per game at 9.33. No other OSU player is in the top 100. The next closest tackler is Jordan Burton with 6.17.What’s interesting about Sterns’ total, though, is that of those top 23 tacklers per game nationally, Sterns has the fewest assisted tackles with 17. His body has taken a beating.“My body is great, man,” Sterns recently told the Tulsa World. “I’m built for this. I love this.”He continued talking about what his goals were. Remember, Sterns is the same guy who said in the preseason he thought OSU could play for the national title.“Being an All-American and All-Big 12 definitely are goals,” said Sterns. “It’s not as important as team goals like a Big 12 championship or making it to the (College Football Playoff), but it would mean a lot.“I’ve got ‘All-Big 12’ written down in my room and as the background on my phone. I would never put myself over the team, but if I’m an All-Big 12 safety, I’m definitely contributing to my team.”He has been so far this season. ESPN nominated as one of its midseason All-Big 12 safeties along with West Virginia’s Karl Joseph.I really loved how his coach Glenn Spencer summed up the Jordan Sterns experience to the Tulsa World.“He’s all about business,” Spencer said. “He doesn’t like nonsense — the immaturity that some kids have. He’ll distance himself from those kinds of guys.”[Tulsa World]If you’re looking for the comments section, it has moved to our forum, The Chamber.
