COULD REFUSAL TO SWAP SHIRT SIGNAL END FOR DONEGAL STAR

first_imgAs the post-mortem into Donegal’s All-Ireland quarter-final defeat against Mayo continues, the question on many supporters minds is who will still be around for the 2016 campaign. Donegal goalkeeper Paul Durcan announced his imminent move to the Middle East earlier today which will almost certainly signal the end of his inter-county career. That move has brought into sharp focus the future of many of the other Donegal stars that are in their 30’s. At the end of the game on Saturday evening a disconsolate Colm McFadden trudged towards the tunnel. The St Michael’s clubman was approached by a couple of Mayo players who wanted to swap jerseys with him.He declined on both occasions which got some Donegal supporters asking the question was he wanting to keep hold of the jersey because he knew it was his last game?McFadden enjoyed a fine season for Donegal, he was employed in a deeper position but enjoyed some excellent performances. Most notable was his man-of-the-match display against Derry, and he had a cracking game against Galway in the qualifier. However, could Saturday’s match against Mayo be the last time we see McFadden in a Donegal jersey?Only time will tell, the players will immerse themselves into club championship action over the next few weeks and will reflect on their Donegal futures during the winter.   COULD REFUSAL TO SWAP SHIRT SIGNAL END FOR DONEGAL STAR was last modified: August 11th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:newsSportlast_img read more
